About Me

My passion for architecture ignited in high school, where I had the opportunity to take several Architectural Engineering Design courses. These early experiences sparked my interest and set me on the path to further pursue architecture. My long-term goal is to become a licensed architect, focusing on healthcare architecture, a field where I aspire to make a meaningful impact by designing spaces that transform the lives of patients and caregivers alike.

Professionally, I’ve gained invaluable experience through multiple internships, including with Earl Swensson Associates (ESa) in Nashville, TN, Chapman Sisson Architects (CSA) in Huntsville, AL, and as an architectural consultant for Harding University in Searcy, AR. At ESa, I contributed to the design of apartment buildings and hotels, developing room and door schedules, stair and glazing details, and general floor plans. While working with Harding University, I produced construction documents for their new architecture program. During my internship with CSA, I had the privilege to work on several healthcare projects, where I participated in site visits, produced documents, and contributed to the mock-up of an ICU room.

I have a deep appreciation for the precision involved in producing construction documents and have found Revit to be the ideal BIM software for creating clean, consistent drawings. Additionally, since beginning my Master of Architecture program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, I’ve expanded my skill set to include Rhino and Grasshopper. Rhino’s flexibility in design has given me a greater appreciation for stylized drawings, especially when paired with Adobe Illustrator, which allows for fine-tuning linework, textures, and fills.

Beyond the classroom and internships, my undergraduate studies included an enriching study abroad experience. In Rome, I studied the timeless beauty of classical architecture, and in Florence, I admired the masterpieces of the Renaissance. A visit to England also allowed me to explore the intricacies of Gothic architecture. While I find these styles captivating, it is classical architecture, with its elegant principles and enduring influence, that interests me most.

I believe that learning never stops, regardless of where you are in life, whether on the job, in school, or somewhere in between, there’s always something new to discover. As I move forward in my career, I remain committed to learning, growing, and exploring new approaches to design, always striving to create spaces that inspire and uplift. I welcome the opportunity to connect with professionals, clients, and mentors who share my vision for creating transformative spaces. Together, we can bring innovative designs to life.
