Employee Health Clinic - Huntsville Hospital

As an intern at Chapman Sisson Architects, I contributed to the planning of an employee clinic for Huntsville Hospital, located within a renovated first floor of an existing HR building. Designed to serve hospital employees and their families, the clinic includes 12 exam rooms, a dedicated pre-employment section, and a staff break area. I developed two plan options that incorporated these elements while also addressing a new south-facing entrance. This entrance provides restroom access for events on the adjacent lawn, with a design solution that allows it to be secured from the rest of the clinic when closed.

This early iteration of the clinic design in Huntsville, AL, explores a layout where the pre-employment area shares key spaces—such as waiting, reception, and the medication room, while still maintaining separation from the main clinic.

This second iteration of the clinic design explores a layout in which the pre-employment area functions independently from the rest of the clinic, allowing for increased privacy for prospective employees. The pre-employment zone includes its own waiting area and a more private blood draw space.
